Google Nexus 7 (32GB, Unlocked)

The Nexus 7 is the best small tablet on the market, but we'd rather tether it to a 4G smartphone than use the built-in cellular modem here.

Plenty of storage. Solid performance. Latest version of Android. Inexpensive, for a cellular tablet.

Cellular speeds are more 3G than 4G. Only compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile.

Google Nexus 7 (32GB, HSPA+) review

Several months after its debut, the Nexus 7 is still an excellent tablet. The 8GB version is gone and the tablet now starts at $199 for 16GB. Paying $249 nets you the 32GB version, and the 32GB version with HSPA+ is available for $299.

The Nexus 7 features a sharp screen, a comfortable design, and great battery life at a low starting price. Android 4.2 adds some welcome and useful features.

Android still needs more tablet-optimized apps, newer games have frame rate issues, and HSPA+ speeds seem particularly location-dependent.

With its excellent design, useful software features, and low starting price, the Nexus 7 is the cheapest way to experience the best that the Android OS has to offer.

Incredible price ; lightweight but solid build ; fast, fluid OS ; text is sharp, video detailed ; decent sound

Google Nexus 7

Google and Asus smack it out of the park with the Nexus 7, a terrific small-screen tablet that's an incredible value at $200.

Fast. Well-built. Excellent battery life. Well worth the money.

Very limited storage. Google Play media store doesn't quite work. No HDMI or MHL to connect the tablet to HDTVs.

Google Nexus 7 review

The first Android Jelly Bean device is the best budget tablet available on the market. The portability, performance and price are unmatched, but is it cut out for business use?

In terms of value for money, the Nexus 7 is unmatched. The performance provided by the Tegra 3 chipset is excellent, and even though it is not optimised for business use, the Nexus is a valuable all-round device to have, especially if you stock it up...

Google Nexus 7 review: First look

We take a look at the first quad-core 7in tablet, which will ship with the Android Jelly Bean operating system.

Unlike Samsung’s original 7in Galaxy Tab, which was too expensive and tried to do too many things – such integrate voice calling – Asus has kept in simple with the Nexus 7. The core features in the Nexus 7 such as the display, processing power and...
