Dodgy Digital Tuners

 

Great TV when it worked. About 4.5 years after purchase the TV just froze right in the middle of viewing and after that no digital channels. Turns out a fuse on the digital tuner board had gone and it would cost $600 to replace. The TV orginally cost...

Good picture quality

A bit slow to start up. EPG very basic - Samsung gas a much better EPG

Very happy initially, but when the digital tuner fault was detected (twice) we now wonder why? 1st fault was 1 month past the Sony warranty. Good unit when it works, but disappointed with the same fault twice.

Easy to use. Purchased because of the Sony name being so good by reputation.

Purchased in Nov 2007, digital tuner and DC fan went in Dec 2008. Digital tuner went again in April 2010.

This unit is poor. I emailed on 25/01/2010 to sony but got no reply. I was told by the retailer that Sony will take no action unless there has been a report from their authorised repairer. The report has cost me $95.00 and it states that the digital...

Remote easy to use for elderley people. When Working Has good picture.Good Brand name - reputable company.

After 19 months the internal digital tuner failed & have flickering colour when watching Foxtel.Having to pay $95.00 for Digital Domain(sony repairer) to tell me what's wrong.

The product itself I'm pretty happy with - the after sales service from Sony is atrocious. I lost the manual and asked for a soft copy in PDF format. Sony Asia, Sony America etc all have their manuals online and freely avaiulable for self service...

Good picture for not quite full HD

Average sound, average remote (takes 10 seconds to "warm up" after turning TV on).
